Our High School has taught classes since 1996 and we had two buildings.
There are transport services and dining hall. We have an open consultation too.
Things in favour about our school: Our school is well equipped. Now we have pcs in the classes to help us learn, the government says that this is better but some studen
ts are not convinced.
Our school is divided in two buildings, one for ESO students and the other is for batxillerat (post compulsory studies) and hairdressing studies. In our school there are people from eight different villages in the area. The good thing about this situation is that we have the latest technology, a lot of teachers and a lot of equipment, but there are also so
me bad points like that we have more than six hundred students. It is next to the road, the classroom acoustics aren't very good etc.
We would change the location of the building and we would put all the students in the same building. If we
compare our education with the education of our parents we think that our education is better.
When our parents were young at school they wore a uniform and were forced to speak to the teachers with formal Spanish. They were also forced to speak Spanish if they did not, they were punished. Religion was a compulsory subject.
Regarding education today the lev
el has increased in many aspects, such as speaking in Catalan or dressing as we like.
Our parents' school was different from our school. For example, they had to sing the "Cara al Sol" (an anthem of Franco's reg
ime) because of Franco's dictatorship. In addition, the catalan language was officialy banned and they had more difficulties and less help and freedom. However, some of our parents think they learned a lot and that education was better. At our parents' time there weren't any optional subjects.
When they think about their time at school they all think that their time was useful for them, because maybe everything that they have learnt will be useful in their lives.
Well done ! The aspects pointed out are partly similar to Portuguese education such as religion....
